On Saturday 9 December we will be releasing v9.5 of Flight Fleets Analyzer. This release contains the following enhancements:
Textron Aviation today announced a new twin-engine, high-wing, large utility turboprop – the Cessna SkyCourier 408.
This type is now set up in our database and the 50 orders and 50 options have been added for FedEx Express. This will be visible in Fleets Analyzer from tomorrow.
For business aviation and helicopter customers, we have recently introduced a new aircraft event, “Registered to Manufacturer”, for brand-new aircraft for which we do not have an assigned order. This is a “temporary” event until the aircraft is delivered or we discover an order customer – at which point we will overwrite the event with a true order event line and follow it with a delivery event.
This event will allow customers to see production activity for types where order backlogs are not transparent. These aircraft show a status of “on order” but do not have a scheduled delivery date assigned to them.

On Saturday 18 November we will be releasing v9.4 of Flight Fleets Analyzer. This release contains the following enhancements:
As a consequence of the recent ATR announcement regarding the introduction of the ATR 72-600F, and the accompanying order from FedEx, we have added a new Sub Series to the Flight Fleets Analyzer taxonomy.
The new Sub Series is “ATR 72 600F Freighter”, and sits directly under the “ATR 72 600” Master Series. This can be seen in the Aircraft Type filter screenshot shown below.
On Saturday 21 October we will be releasing v9.3 of Flight Fleets Analyzer. This release contains the following enhancements:
Since its launch in May 2017, the Flight Fleets Analyzer Knowledge Base has become an important resource for users who wish to learn about and keep up to date with Flight Fleets Analyzer. But, while meeting with users at MRO Europe recently, it became apparent that many users aren’t aware of the Knowledge Base. For this reason, we have taken the decision to alert users to new Knowledge Base articles when they access Flight Fleets Analyzer. Every time you access Flight Fleets Analyzer, if there have been new Knowledge Base articles published since your previous visit then you will be presented with a list of these articles on the right side of the homepage. We have taken the decision to update our list of supported browsers. The new list is as follows:
With the exception of Internet Explorer, browsers have transitioned from large infrequent releases – eg, IE9, 10, 11, etc – to a more frequent update cycle. Because of this, we have had to move away from stating specific browser versions; instead, we will state a specific period of time after release. We have chosen a period of 12 months. The exception to this is Internet Explorer 11, which is the only version of IE still supported by Microsoft and still the standard for many corporate users. We will continue to support IE11.
If your browser of choice is not on the list, that does not mean you can’t continue to use it. However, we won’t be able to provide support for any issues that are specific to non-supported browsers.
In this release we have made a few enhancements to help you find saved searches.
All of the tables within the Saved Search section (My searches, Shared with me, FlightGlobal/ACAS/Ascend, and My Exports) can now be filtered via the table headers. Combined with the new search on the homepage, this should make finding saved searches far easier.
We have updated our taxonomy slightly for the Bombardier DHC-8, to enable more flexible searching and allow customers to filter out the type’s Q-Series variants (later-produced versions with a cabin noise suppression system).
For the DHC-8-400, we have renamed the master series from DHC-8-400 to DHC-8-400 (Q400); i.e. it now includes the marketing name. “(Q400)” has also been added for all relevant type series and subseries aircraft.
For the smaller Q200 and Q300, we have added the description in the type series and, in brackets, to the following subseries:
In October, users of Google Chrome will start to see a warning in their browser on any web page that includes a form field – e.g. search, address, passwords, filters, usernames etc – that is not transmitted using HTTPS (because the data is being transmitted over the web without encryption).
Flight Fleets Analyzer has always used encryption for the transmission of username and password on the sign-in page. As of 14 September, the whole of Flight Fleets Analyzer now operates over HTTPS – i.e. all submitted data is now encrypted. When using Flight Fleets Analyzer you should not see any Google warnings stating that the page is “not secure”.
This change should not affect your access to Flight Fleets Analyzer. However, if you previously had to ask your IT/security department to create a firewall exception for access to the sign-in page of Flight Fleets Analyzer (login.flightglobal.com) , you may now need to ask for this to be extended to the whole of flightglobal.com (*.flightglobal.com).
