Release Notes v9.4

On Saturday 18 November we will be releasing v9.4 of Flight Fleets Analyzer. This release contains the following enhancements:

  • Homepage update
  • Participants
  • Changes to Current Fleet
  • Bug fix – A330/340 Saved Search issues

Homepage update

We’ve added three new ‘recent search’ widgets on the homepage for Maintenance, Accidents and Deals. There is now a dedicated widget for each search section within Flight Fleets Analyzer. In addition to adding the three widgets, we have also reduced the height of each widget to ensure a better fit on laptop screens. Combined with the recent release of the dedicated search box for Saved Searches, it’s now far easier to find and run Saved Searches. We will be making even more changes to Saved Searches next year when we plan to introduce group sharing.

Participants

The Participants field that was previously available in ASO Fleets is now available in Flight Fleets Analyzer.

Definition: Participant of any financial transactions such as loans, mortgages, tax lease, etc. The role of each participant could include (but is not limited to) arranger, debt provider, equity provider, guarantor, etc.

Participant is available in the following locations:

  • As an optional column on the Aircraft Detail page
  • In the header section of aircraft profile pages

The Participant role differs slightly from the other company roles (Owner, Operator, etc) in that it can contain multiple companies for a single aircraft. The Participants filter will follow in January/February next year.

Changes to Current Fleet

While the term ‘Current Fleet’ is used in many areas of Flight Fleets Analyzer, it’s probably most often used as an optional column on the Aircraft Summary page: ie, ‘Total Current Fleet’. The term was also used in our legacy products ACAS and ASO Fleets. Unfortunately, the definition of the term is open to debate and has not been used consistently across our legacy products. For this reason, we will no longer be using the term ‘Current Fleet’ in Flight Fleets Analyzer. Instead, we will be introducing two new metrics titled ‘Total In Service and Storage’ and ‘Total In Service, Storage and On Order’. These can be seen in the screenshot below.

Bug fix – A330/340 Saved Search issues

During August 2017, we introduced ‘Aircraft Family’ as a new level in the aircraft hierarchy. Since that time we have started to receive reports of issues with some Saved Searches. We believe that a bug was introduced, affecting scenarios where a Saved Search created prior to the introduction of family contained multiple aircraft types which, when combined, formed a single family: for example, A330 and A340. During this release, we are deploying a fix that we believe will resolve this issue.
