Participants filter

In November 2017, we introduced the Participants field to Flight Fleets Analyzer as an optional column on the Aircraft Detail page, and in the header of aircraft profile pages.

Definition: Participant in a financial transaction, such as a loan, mortgage, tax lease, etc. The role of each participant could include (but is not limited to) arranger, debt provider, equity provider, guarantor, etc

To help find aircraft associated with specific Participants, we recently introduced the Participants filter. The Participant role differs slightly from the other nine company roles (Owner, Operator, etc) in that there can be multiple participants associated with an aircraft at any single point in time. Selecting multiple companies within the Participants filter will return aircraft if they are associated with any of the Participants: for example, Participant 1 OR Participant 2. A319, A320, A321, A330 neo families, and Boeing 737 name changes

So that our aircraft naming is more consistent across the product, and to bring it more in line with convention, the brackets have been dropped from the A319, A320, A321, A330 neo families, and Boeing 737. e.g A320 (neo) is now A320neo. 737 (Max) is now 737 Max.

New ‘Order Book’ Saved Search

We’ve created a new Saved Search titled ‘Order Book’. This search shows the Gross Orders, Cancellations, Net Orders, and Total Deliveries change over time. The search has been built with filters applied for 737 and A320 Families.

The quickest way to launch this search is via the ‘Run a saved search’ search box on the homepage.

Feedback request – proposed new Aircraft PDF/Print Profiles

The current technical solution to printing aircraft profiles is to create a new web page that stacks the contents of each individual aircraft profile tab – for example, A/C History, Hours & Cycles, Maintenance, etc. This simple solution relies on the web browser to handle the printing. Unfortunately, this is far from ideal. For this reason we have been working hard to design a new solution that does not rely on the web-based version of the aircraft profile at all; instead, it’s a brand new aircraft profile formatted specifically for PDF (A4/Letter landscape). Not only will the print experience be far better, but the PDF can be downloaded and saved for offline use.

737 Max taxonomy change

We have made a small update to the taxonomy for the 737 MAX.

The Sub Series of Max 8-200 is now grouped under the master series of Max 8 which will enable users to group all 737 Max 8s together at master series level.

Taxonomy change: Marenco becomes Kopter

For our heli users, in response to the announcement earlier this week, we’ve changed Marenco to Kopter in the list of manufacturers.

In addition to the company’s name change, its SKYe SH09 helicopter is now listed as the SH09.

Changes to 737 and 767 taxonomy

To enable customers to find freight conversions more easily – particularly those conducted by IAI’s Bedek Aviation Group – we have updated the taxonomy for the Boeing 737 and 767.

We have updated the 767 subseries descriptions as follows:

Airbus and Embraer 2017 performance

Following on from the Boeing 2017 performance article posted last week, we now have the complete set of delivery data for Airbus and Embraer.

As with the Boeing data, the best way to view this in Flight Fleets Analyzer is to start with the ‘Deliveries Made’ Saved Search, apply the relevant aircraft type/family filters, and then move to the Summary tab and group by Current Master Series. See figures 1, 2 and 3 below. Continue reading “”

As many users are keen to analyse aircraft manufacturers’ performance in 2017, we thought it important to advise on our data team’s progress in processing OEM figures for the year.

First up is Boeing. Its data is showing as updated in Flight Fleets Analyzer as of 11 January.

Lease Expiries Saved Search

We’ve recently created a Lease Expiries readymade report (Saved Search), similar in format to the corresponding context previously available in Ascend Fleets. You can select this from the Saved Search page (link). The Lease Expiries Saved Search will list all the known future scheduled leased expiry activity, from 1st Dec 2017 to the end of 2018 as a default. You’re free to adjust the lease expiry date range using the date range feature in the top left-hand corner or via the Add Filter Menu button within the Events category.
