Helicopter backlog status review

For all the attention of helicopter customers.

Based on market feedback at Heli Expo 2019 and Paris 2019, we are conducting a thorough review of our order, option and LoI statuses for civil helicopters.

As many of you will be aware, the oil and gas industry has suffered a slowdown in recent years, and there’s evidence of operators entering Chapter 11,  and lessors/operators potentially merging. Due to the many changes in this sector, we have taken the opportunity to review the backlog numbers.

Due to this review, you will notice many older dated firm orders will now show as cancelled, and many options and LoIs will show as cancelled/lapsed.

This data review will be completed and available in product from Monday 1st July 2019.

Team Share is an enhancement to the existing sharing options for Saved Searches. Team Share allows you to share your Saved Searches with specific users and/or groups. To learn more about Team Share, please read the Team Share article.

Team Share

Sharing your Saved Searches with other users within your organisation is a great way to make sure that everyone is using the same data and viewing the same reports. For large organisations with many Fleets Analyzer users, it’s quite easy to become overwhelmed with shared Saved Searches. In order to combat this “over sharing”, we’ve just added a new addition to the sharing options. Name change for Mitsubishi MRJ

In line with the recent announcement, we have renamed the Mitsubishi MRJ to the Mitsubishi SpaceJet.

The sub series taxonomy has also changed to reflect the name with the MRJ90 becoming the SpaceJet M90.

Changes will show in Fleets Analyzer from Friday 14th June.

Split of ‘Business Jets – Bizliners’ Market Grouping

Based on customer feedback, we’ve decided to split the Business Jets – Bizliners Market Grouping into 2 distinct groups i.e.:

  • Business Jets – Bizliners – Widebody e.g. 747 BBJ, A330 ACJ
  • Business Jets – Bizliners – Narrowbody e.g. 737 BBJ, A319 ACJ

As part of this split, we’ve also moved additional aircraft types into the ‘Business Jets – Large’ Market Grouping e.g. Legacy 600/650, Challenger 850/870

Update on 737 Max fleet

As it is still unclear when the fleet will return to operational service, we have updated the 737 MAX stored fleet to a “scheduled to return to service” date of 30th June 2019 – this is our default “mid-year” estimate date we use in our data. Some airlines have stated a date beyond this, and these dates have been reflected in the data.

For backlog 737 MAX deliveries, we have moved all deliveries to beyond 30th June 2019 and we are working through the backlog to smooth any knock-on effect of these delays.
