Airport Name Changes

Here at Cirium we strive to ensure we provide customers with the most up to date and accurate data, part of that involves both minor changes that can happen daily and larger tranches. 

As part of this we have updated the airport naming to make this consistent across Cirium products, to stay as accurate as possible and to stay aligned with the market. However, there may be an impact on saved searches and Excel functions used on exported data.

The consistency that will be applied to station variances can be seen below, with all stations following the ‘STYLE’ column going forward.

A summary of what will change moving from current Fleets Analyzer names and the new common names;

• Airports get the city name added where it’s commonly used or it makes sense to include it to help clarify where the airport is.
• International replaces abbreviated Intl
• Schedules data currently has a 52 character limit for stations, so there are a few that have had to be shortened to fit.
• Airport is added to all names
• Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine bases will have appropriate abbreviations.
• “Saint” spelled out unless it is never spelled out for that particular name/city.
